By now you know the drill with this post. I list out the top books that I read and loved this past month and from them I choose the best of the best. This book then gets listed in my Top 12 List (check out my sidebar) and at the end of the year those 12 books are pitted against each other and my top book for the year is chosen.
The Contenders – 5 Star Reads
Something Real by Heather Demetrios
This month was easy in choosing a winner for my favorite book of the month because there was only one book to receive a 5 star rating and that was Something Real by Heather Demetrios. I had tried to read this as an egalley but at the time I couldn’t get past the first few pages for various reasons and life distractions. Then it expired so I had no choice but to buy a copy as I still needed to get a review into Netgalley. I put it off for a bit and then once I started it a second time I just couldn’t put it down. I was hooked on Bonnie(TM)’s story and loved this peak into what it might be like to be a child star on a reality tv show. My favorite this about this one was the relationship between Bonnie(TM) and her brother Benny(TM). If you haven’t read this one yet then you need it on your shelf!
What about you? What was your favorite book read this month? Let me know in the comments below. =)

Personal Highlights of June
Some fun highlights in June where:
My Blog turned SEVEN! I still can’t believe that I started this blog seven years ago it doesn’t seem that long at all. I also pulled the winners of the contest and they are:

Taking a mini road trip with SarahReadsTooMuch to Troy, NY to visit the Dinosaur BBQ. If you ever spent any length of time in Syracuse, NY then you know just how epic and necessary a journey it was! It was a great day to wander around the town and visit their huge farmer’s market. We also found two books stores and the second best part of the day…ok third…following the awesome BBQ and spending time with the amazing Sarah was that I found the Tardis!
Sadly the Doctor and Clara weren’t inside but I felt safer in Troy knowing they were running about somewhere foiling some evil alien plot!
I also volunteered for a day at the WalkerStalker Con in Boston and got to see some of the stars of the show. I didn’t take any photos or get any autographs but I met some fun people and did something out of my comfort zone so go me! It was a fun day and I think I might just volunteer again next year!
