WWW Wednesdays is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading asks you to answer the following three (3) questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?
My answers:
What are you currently reading?
Blood Storm by Rhiannon Hart (Goodreads). I meant to read this one over the weekend but then I got sick and needed a good Persephone story to cleanse my pallet after reading a bad retelling so I picked up Aimee Carter's books instead.
Hysteria by Megan Miranda (Goodreads). Didn't make a tone of progress on this one this week due to illness and other book distractions.
Year Zero by Rob Reid (Goodreads, Audio). Heard about this audio from a twitter friend and started it this week. So far I am enjoying it.
On the back burner:
Still reading these just not actively...I will finish them eventually...
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken (Goodreads).
Venom by Fiona Paul (GoodReads).
What did you recently finish reading?
The Goddess Legacy by Aimee Carter (Goodreads, 3 stars). This is a collection of short stories that deal with the lives of the gods and goddesses we all know and love from the Goddess Test. These stories tell a little about their history and how they came to be who they are now. As with all anthologies I liked some of the stories more than others. Of them all I think the ones about Hermes/James and Hades/Henry were my favorites.
The Goddess Inheritance by Aimee Carter (Goodreads, 4 stars). Lots more action in this book than in any of the others. Though the final battle was a bit anticlimatic. Overall though not a bad way to end the series.
Everneath by Brodi Ashton (Goodreads, Audio, 2 stars). This was a story with a very pretty cover, a good premise, but poor execution. For 90% of the book nothing happened other than the MC whining, blushing, or shivering. Then the last 10% was where things happened but it was all just WTFery.
Goddess Interrupted by Aimee Carter (Goodreads, 3.5 stars). After finishing Everneath I needed a good tale of Persephone to cleanse the pallet. This is the second book in Carter's Goddess series and for the most part I enjoyed it. I thought that Kate was a little more whiney this time around and less strong than in the first book. I also wasn't a fan of the ending. But I am curious to see where things go in the final book. (Read my full review here.)

What do you think you'll read next?
I'll probably read something from my List of Twelve.
- Classic/Middle Grade^: Ash Mistry and the Savage Palace by Sarwat Chadda
- Series: If We Kiss & Kiss Me Again by Rachel Vail - ok I know this is two books but they are both short so they can almost count as one.
- Backlist**: The Vampire Stalker by Allison VanDiepen
- Review Book: Venom by Fiona Paul
I also have some books from the library, to read for a blog tour, or to prepare for an upcoming book signing to read. Plus all those shiny new books that always seem to catch my eye and distract me. If I ever finish the list of twelve above then I'll try to work any of these books that remain into the new list. Needless to say though I'm going to be pretty busy over the next couple of months.

The Goddess series looks really good--such beautiful covers.
ReplyDeleteI'm so bloody excited for Hysteria. I loved Fracture :) Also need to read Year Zero. I was told to read that one. Hope it's good!
ReplyDeleteYear Zero sounds great. I want to pick that one up - good luck with all of your reading and goings on! I feel super busy with all of my commitments lately too. Funny, getting something read never stressed me out until I started blogging about books :)
