WWW Wednesday: 30 January 2013 (Find out what I'm reading this week)

WWW Wednesdays is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading asks you to answer the following three (3) questions…

• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

My answers:

What are you currently reading?

Blood Storm by Rhiannon Hart (Goodreads). I've been so excited for this one ever since I finished Blood Song (my review) but now that its arrived from Australia I'm almost afraid to start it.

Hysteria by Megan Miranda (Goodreads). Reading this here and there on my phone as time permits as this is for a blog tour in February...which will be here before I know it! Not sure what to think of it so far but it is intriguing.

Everneath by Brodi Ashton (Goodreads, Audio). My eyes are starting to hurt from eye rolling...this MC only ever seems to blush, shiver, and waste time. So many words are wasted on flash backs and seemingly pointless details & don't get me started with how often the MC repeats herself. I'm creeping up on the 1/2 point and nothing has happened. I think this book suffers from pretty cover syndrome and I'm not sure if I'll be able to finish it.

On the back burner:
Still reading these just not actively...I will finish them eventually...
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken (Goodreads).
Venom by Fiona Paul (GoodReads).

What did you recently finish reading?

Quintana of Charyn by Melina Marchetta (Goodreads, 5 stars). My box of books arrived from Australia and as a result my reading schedule has been tossed out of the window. I've been dying for Quintana since I finished Froi of the Exiles back in September and let me tell you this book did not disappoint! Oh the feelings!! I hated for this one to end as I love this series so very much. (See my review here.)

A Million Suns by Beth Revis (Goodreads, Audio, 4 stars). Overall, I enjoyed this one. There were things I didn't like and felt were cliched or too easy to figure out but I did like it better than Across the Universe (my review). I'm also glad that I read this when I have a copy of Shades of Earth available as the ending is a bit cliff hangery.

What did I post about last week?
What do you think you'll read next?

I'll probably read something from my List of Twelve.
  1. Classic/Middle Grade^Ash Mistry and the Savage Palace by Sarwat Chadda
  2. New Release*: A Million Suns by Beth Revis
  3. Series: If We Kiss & Kiss Me Again by Rachel Vail - ok I know this is two books but they are both short so they can almost count as one.
  4. Backlist**: The Vampire Stalker by Allison VanDiepen
  5. Review Book: Venom by Fiona Paul
I also have some books from the library, to read for a blog tour, or to prepare for an upcoming book signing to read. Plus all those shiny new books that always seem to catch my eye and distract me. If I ever finish the list of twelve above then I'll try to work any of these books that remain into the new list. Needless to say though I'm going to be pretty busy over the next couple of months.

    1. I loved Blood Song so I have high hopes for the sequel. I also should really avoid books with lots of hype as I'm often disappointed, Everneath is falling into this catagory.

And yes...read FROI!!! so so good!

  10. Wow, nice list of books! I still need to read the Lumatere Chronicles, I've wanted to try the series since Finnikin of the Rock was published, and now they piled up, hopefully I'll get them soon. And I still need to read Blood Song, too. I actually haven't read any of these, yeah, I'm so behind. Happy reading!
